Dr. Garrett was a towering intellectual figure on the campus at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The depth of his erudition was intimidating to many students, myself included. Yet, he was first a servant of God. My most vivid memory was the night my wife and I attended a Luis Palau crusade in Fort Worth. I would like to express my love and condolences to the family. God gained a angel. Remember to the family it's not a goodbye, until we meet again. It was a pleasure working with Mr Garrett. The talks, laughs and smiles I will remember.

I was introduced to Dr. and Mrs. Garrett in 1998 when he became our interim pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Burleson. He and Mrs. Garrett were incredible! Relationships were formed with them that lasted decades. He preached, taught and counseled us during that short time, as did Mrs. Garrett. They both modeled a close walk with Christ and a complete commitment to Him that I've rarely seen. The love I experienced flowing through them was genuine and marked them as true disciples of...
