James was born on November 27, 1936 and passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015. James was a resident of Jeanerette, Louisiana at the time of his passing. He was married to Peggy. A visitation is planned for 6:00 8:00PM Tuesday December 15 2015 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville NC.

Peggy so sorry for your loss. Jim was a great friend to everyone who came in contact with him. Always had only good to say about everyone. Worked many a nights and days with him. Rest and guard those gates my brother.

I met Jim on my first day of work as a Juvenile Court Counselor. Jim was the first law enforcement officer I had contact with and he went out of his way to help me do my job. I never forgot his kindness and generosity to help others. Peggy and Jim have always been a good fit. I have treasured my friendship with both of you. May Jim rest in peace and Peggy find peace during this very difficult time. Heaven has welcomed an angel and we have lost a true gem (Jim).

Jim Gibson was a man deeply embedded in his community. I first met Jim when I was working as a Child Protectve Services Lins Social Worker for Onslow County Department of Social Services. Jim was working as a Sheriff's Deputy and many times he assisted with the removal of at risk children from abusive homes which made my job out in the field much safer.
