Not sure what to say?

I´m a Canadian who visited NZ for 20 years. Driving through Roxburgh one day I stopped at the Endemic Art Gallery and fell in love with one of James´ paintings which captured the stark beauty of Central Otago. It will always hang on the wall of my apartment. RIP James, your talent lives on.

Dear Geraldine - so sad to hear of Jim's passing. I have fond memories of both of you from the 60's

Our condolences to Geraldine and family. I taught with Jim at Southland College and then Cargill High 1976-79. Played golf weekly with Jim, Peter Hutchison and Chris Marshall. Was a very cheerful man and a great teacher. Always admired his art. Am currently in Southland on holiday and was going to call in. Very sad to hear the news.

My condolences to the family. Jim lived a few houses up the road from me in Lyttelton. Indeed, Jim, Geoff Priddy and I spend a number of nights together in a shack on the Waiau River. Jim introduced me to condensed milk in my tea. I admired him greatly.

Remembering the good times growing up in Lyttelton. Rest in peace Jim

Went to school with Jim. Lyttelton West. Remember his drawings. Fantastic. I Was Kaths Cousin. Sympathy to family.

My deepest condolences . Best Art teacher ever. So many fond memories at CSC,,especially the class shenanigans,,many many funny stories. He was truly an inspiration to many students along their high school journey, and just such an awesome man all round. Rest In Peace Mr Gilmore. Xo

So sad to read of your news. Take care of yourself & know that others are caring for you at this time.
