Not sure what to say?

Dear Jim, Still missing your spirit of truthfulness and humanity, your rich intelligence and passion for your work. Our country is not doing well without you. In some ways I am glad you are not here to see the ongoing brutality and mindlessness that currently afflict us. But perhaps you see it from somewhere, and help us stay true to the wondrous capacities of the mind against the dull emptiness of addictions to power. My love and respect always, and to your family.

He Will always be in my best memories with deep gratitude for all he share

Hi Gooch family... What a wonderful event today, I'm sorry I wasn't able to join it live, but it was very moving to watch/listen live on zoom! I've wanted to share that Jim had such an impact on shaping my career as an art therapist. I was just about 25 years old and thinking of studying Art Therapy... Single Memorial Tree

Sammy and I offer our deepest sympathies.

Jim loomed large in my childhood years. He was quietly paternal and always included me in family festivities. He loved to work on the house and was a model husband and father.

Dr. Gooch was an extraordinary psychoanalyst and a gifted teacher of the art. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his wife Shirley and his family and friends, and also by his many patients, colleagues, and students. The depth of his empathy was exceptional. May he rest in peace, he will never be forgotten.

I have known Jim for over 30 years and am indebted to both he and Shirley for my training and understanding of adults and Children. Jim was both my supervisor and after i finished my training analysis, he became my weekly therapist as I experienced a painful disease. I owe so much to this couple and consider them my good friends. You are missed Jim and I use the hour per week that I have talked to you since 2007 as an hr. of contemplations and peace. Jim, I love both you and Shirley. ...

Sending condolences to Shirley and all his family and friends. Jim was an amazing teacher and amazing soul. His smile was without parallel. I always felt so refreshed after sharing a smile with Jim, his resonance and kindness ran deep. I was one of his students at WILA and appreciated his joviality and intellect and this core of care that moved deeply through him and to others. I always looked for his smiling face to say hello at meetings over the years. His presence will be missed but his...
