Not sure what to say?

I was truly blessed to be given the opportunity to help care for Jim and keep him in his home for a year and a half before his passing. He was a VERY proud man and though he could be a handful sometimes - I always tried to imagine myself in his situation and I don't think I would be able to handle it as well as he did. I am deeply saddened by his loss but have many great memories to comfort me. My heart goes out to Lynda, Jamie, Jill and the rest of his beautiful family and friends. RIP Jim.

Jim, lovingly referred to as Mr. G, was the first principal with whom I worked. As a student teacher, I so enjoyed working with him at Kellar. We reconnected at Hines and were there together for many years. He was a gentle giant. Such a presence, but also a man with a heart of gold. I was lucky to have known him. Prayers for Lynda and his family. He loved you all so very much.

Our family has enjoyed over 60 years of unrelenting friendship with Jim, Lynda, Janie, and Jill either by many visits or travels. Starting out as Cub Scouts to classmates to Lifeguards at Fondulac pool to sharing our experiences as teachers/coaches to Principalships, Jim was indeed a scholarly gentleman and very much people oriented. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends who will miss his tenacity and will to live a productive life. God Bless!! Dick and Helen Brownfield

We were lucky at Kellar to have him as our principal. Really good mentor that was tough when he needed to be and a big heart when needed. I especially liked it when he would play basketball. Always funny but competitive. I remember the big hook shots. A truly fine person and that is what we should all aspire to be. RIP Mr. G and thank you for everything.

My Mother (Mary F. Cunningham) taught at Kellar during the time that Mr Gustafson served as Principal. She was very fond of him and spoke of his abilty to lead with compassion. She considered him a friend and she is saddened to learn of his passing.

My heart is broken to lose Gusty...Sammy and I loved him so much...a real fun guy and special to us in so many ways...God bless his soul...

I attended Kellar central while Mr Gustafson was principal he was always very nice . Prayers to his family

To the Gustafson family, what a wonderful man he was. I knew him as Mr. Gustafson or Sir. Fond memories of him as my Principal at Keller Central. I'm glad I never ended up in his office. He touched and shaped so many young lives. My thoughts are with the family.

Mr. Gustafson served as compassionate structure that helped me feel safe and secure through my Kellar years. I respected him alot. My prayers are with his family.
