Not sure what to say?

There are a just handful of people, if we are lucky, that we meet in life who are like Jim. I remember pretty much every conversation, every laugh, every moment in the very few years that I knew him. And that twinkle in his eyes! We shared a car ride from Ribbon Ridge, where I was working harvest, to the airport one autumn. It was then that I learned about HumanWare and thinking, just how many entrepreneurs are out there that go beyond the dollar to help people? I'm sorry I just learned now...

Always think of Jim around the holidays. It was always such a family time. This has been a particularly difficult year as all my siblings are gone and Jim was like the brother I never had. My thought ae with you at this time.

Group of 10 Memorial Trees

Many years ago in Palo Alto as east coast newbies we were lucky to become friends with Jim and Karen. They made our transition less stressful and became good friends. When they relocated to Washington DC area they opened their arms again to us as we searched for jobs in the area. Packing that uhaul for them to return to California was a hard goodbye. We lost touch over the years but the internet kept them both within sight. It is with great sadness but wonderful memories we mourn the passing...

Jim´s many talents were impressive, but what I will remember most is his unflagging enthusiasm for everything he undertook. I wish that he had lived longer, but he LIVED every single day of his life.

With great respect for a great man and a greater human being. May his memory be a blessing to his family, friends, and all who knew him forever.

He was a very special person. Have many great memories of our younger years and so thankful for the special family ties we had. He is missed.

I met Jim as part of my first ever "artist-in-residency" with the Oregon Symphony, and I will never forget the warmth and affection he welcomed me to his and Karen's home. He had a charisma and a heart which is rare to come across and it hurts me very much that I have not been in closer touch the past few years. I will always remember him with great affection and can't wait to meet him again at some point to continue talking about jazz, wine and life in general!

I enjoyed spending time with Jim at various conferences and serving on the ATIA board together. One of the most memorable times however was hearing Jim play piano at Russell Smith's memorial service. Such a talented, genuine and caring person who will be greatly missed.
