Not sure what to say?

Des was a great neighbor and a class act. In recent years, he went out of his way to be kind to my mother. In fact the only time I ever saw him angry was back on Laverendrye Dr when our bad cat would deliberately hunt in his back yard. As Fr. Souci once said, we miss the people most who are most surely in Paradise.

Dear Julian,
My prayers are with you and your family during this sad time of the passing of your Dad . He will live I on in your hearts and memories.

Kirsten and I Send our condolences. Desmond was a gifted multi talented artist, actor, performer, hard working dad. His life was long and fruitful. But it is always hard to lose a loved one. My prayer is that his eternity with Ban will bear much fruit here on earth for those who are left behind, and that his prayers for your entire family will continue to echo through the heavens and shower many blessings on you, the grandchildren and...

Dear Roisin, Julian, Carl, Margaret, Claire and Alice,

Our sympathies to you and the family.

The world is a sadder place without a fine spirit such as Desmond. Debonair and engaging, a good conversationist and artist, intelligent, witty, a wonderful match for his partner and equal in every way, your mother Ban. A very elegant pair. Very fortunate were the many friends who enjoyed their gracious and warm company .

We shall make a donation to the Ottawa symphony in their...

My sincere condolences on the loss of your father. I will keep him and your family in my prayers. His legacy will live on through the lives and work of his children and grandchildren.

It's been my honour and privilege to have known the Hanlon clan for more than fifty years. Desmond and Ban were both wonderful people. I learned to be a better person in part due to the examples they set. I remember many times around the kitchen table with Desmond where we all joked and laughed about any and all things. Those were great days. My deepest sympathies are with the family for your loss.
