Not sure what to say?

As we mourn his death and celebrate his life, we have much to be thankful for. Monsignor James C. Hardiman was a man who embodied his Priestly Calling in full measure and dignity. He attended our family through weddings and funerals. He readily made his wise counsel availible to us in matters, both secular and theological. His Spirit and Energy will remain alive in us always.
May he rest in Deserved Peace-

Our memories of Msgr. Hardiman when He was at St. Catherine of Alexandria and His visits to Americana Nursing Home will always be with us. Our Mother was at that Nursing Home for 5 yrs. I, Walter, meet Msgr last year while we were both getting treatments for anemia, At Christ Hospital. He was a wonderful priest with a great memory for people's names. Sincere Condolances to the Hardiman Family, Jeannette and Walter Gunty

With deepest sympathy,

To the Family of Monsigner Hardiman-

My deepest condolences on your loss. I met Monsigner many years ago through my Grandparents, Pat and Della Barry. I was even Monsigner's roommate during a trip to Ireland in 1987. He was a great man and a great priest and we were all lucky to have him in our lives.

Mark G. Mahoney and Family

The Schumacher/Gleason family would like to express our condolences.

Thank you so much for touching my life Monsignor Hardiman. Many a Sundays and Saturdays, did I sit in the St. Terrence congregation and listen to your sermons about how to become a better person some of your funny stories, and up until a few weeks ago, stories about your buddies from the Seminary and how many of you were left. Well, Monsignor now you can visit your buddies and look down on all of us and see if we were paying attention during your sermon or sleeping with our eyes open. You...

I knew Monsignor as the priest of St. Terrance for most of my life. I also served as an alterperson for him and listened to his 12:00PM sermons. I have always admired his strength and courage and enjoyed his way of celebrating mass. I will miss hearing the way he said, "Let us proclaim the mystery of His death." He had an extraordinary dedication to Jesus' teachings and I will remember him as an important religous figure in my life. Peace be with you, Monsignor, forever and ever. Amen.

I only had a single ocassion to speak with the Monsignor outside of church. We were both donating coats to Incarnation church and were both confused as to what building to go to. After we dropped off the coats he offered to show me the Adoration Chapel where the Holy Eucharist is displayed. He then took me on a tour of the church and buildings. I never forgot that day and how nice it was of him to do that for me.

Monsignor Hardiman was a fine priest and a courageous man. Although my family moved from St. Nick's a few years before he went to another parish, he continued to keep in touch for years even into his retirement. A priest like Monsignor never really retired. Rare was the wake he missed or the sick family member he did not visit in the hospital. It seemed that he cared about nothing but to bring God's love to those he could touch. We should thank God he had a long life. Today, we here are a bit...
