I am very sorry for your loss. I worked at Alumni House when Jim was Director there, before his "brief" retirement. I knew he couldn't stay away long that first time. He once cut an article out of the Ithaca Journal about a homerun I had hit, pasted it on a colored mat and made his commentary "he called me the sultanese of Swing", and hung it on the mailroom door. He was a fun guy and sure to be missed.

What a sad loss. We did landscaping work for Jim off and on for many years. He always greeted us with a smile and was a pleasure to work with. Belwood sure was interesting back when Jack and Jim were "running" things!
We will miss him.

Dear Hazzard family,
My memories of your Dad go back a few years - playing tennis, laughing (a lot!) and gathering with family and friends. My sympathy and love to all of you - love, Alice

The world has lost an amazing man. Jim was kind and encouraging. I was blessed to work with him for many years, and he was wonderful, professional, and full of wisdom. His advice was perfect. To me, he was the epitome of what it means to be a Cornellian because he devoted his life to Cornell and made a difference for many students. Please accept my sympathies.
