Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Chicopee- James Michael Healey, 74, passed away at Holyoke Hospital on September 26, 2022.  A lifelong resident of Chicopee, Jim was born on February 11, 1948, the son of the late James F. and Genevieve (Jamroz) Healey.  He graduated from Chicopee High School and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  Jim worked for many years as a salesman at Mass Automotive on Center Street and as a field agent for the Knights of Columbus.  Jim was a past Grand Knight, District Deputy, and 4th Degree Knight for Elder Council  69 in Chicopee.  Jim also volunteered his time at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home and the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery and was a member of many organizations including American Legion Post 337 in Aldenville, AmVets Post 12 in Chicopee, the former VFW Post 625, Disabled American Veterans, the Tigers Athletic Club, and the Chicopee Moose Lodge Chapter 1489.  Jim also served on the Veterans Advisory Board, was a former parade marshal for Chicopee in the St. Patrick's Day Parade,  and in 2021 was the recipient of the Charles H. Tracy Award for his volunteerism and work in the Veteran community.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Patricia A. (Asselin) Healey, his daughter Carrie McDonough and her husband, John, of Chicopee, his son Sean Healey, of Chicopee, his three grandchildren Ryan, Meghan, and Owen McDonough, and by his sister, Ellen Conlon and her husband, Thomas, of Pittsfield.  Funeral services for Jim will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, beginning at 10:15am at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee.  His Funeral Mass will take place at 11:30am in Holy Name parish, 94 Springfield St., Chicopee,  followed by committal services at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.  Memorial contributions in Jim's name can be made to a charity of one's choice.  To share a memory or to leave your condolences for the family, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com
