Not sure what to say?

I grew up down the street from the Heff´s. I just happened to be thinking about Mr Heff today and found out about his passing. Wish I could have paid my respects so I´m doing it now in this way. If it wasn´t for the Heffernans including me in everything they did my childhood would have been more of a disaster. They always made me feel welcome. I´m so grateful them for showing me the love of their family. One memory that comes to mind is Mr Heff coming out into the driveway and showing off his...

Captain Jim Heffernan, USMCR was one of my platoon leaders in Company "F", 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines, in Forest Park. He was a good man, and a good, well respected Marine. My most sincere sympathy and condolences to his family.

D E "Mac" McFadden jr, Colonel, USMCR, (Ret)

To Beth,Barry,Delany,Connor and Eileen,

As we go through life we are reminded of how precious memories can be of a loved one that has gone before us to heaven. May you and yours hold on to all that was wonderful in your relationship with your father, father in-law and grandfather. In you, his children and grandchildren, those friends and loved ones will see a part of him here day to day. Find peace in knowing that he is with God and God is with you.

Beth and family,

Although we've lost touch over the years, I was sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Brian, Joan and family, we are so sorry to hear about your dad, we had know idea til yesterday. Our prayers are with you in your sorrow.
love, Tom and Maureen

To the Hefferman family,

I went to St. Bride's grammer school with Jim. I knew him as "Jimmy" then. Jimmy and I got in a fight when we were about 7 years old. He chipped my tooth. He sure packed a punch. I always liked him even after our little tiff. A friend (Gerald Lewis) from the old neighborhood told about your loss. My prayers are with all the Heffermans.

To the Heffernans,

I grew up down the street from the Heffernan family. As a member of a family with 10 children, I would like to thank Mr. Heffernan posthumously for the hundreds of times he transported me home from wrestling and football practices, and from games and meets, and for taking me along with his sons, and sometimes daughters, to high school events throughout the northeast Ohio area.

The Strauser family is thinking and praying for you---it is a tough time---hold onto the great stories. Dolly

Amy & Heffernan Family: Even though I only met Jim at the SJC Directory Photo Shoot, I remember his sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss and regret not hearing about it until the services were over. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Ginny Grecco
