Not sure what to say?

We are truly sorry to hear of Mr. Held's passing. Mr. Held and my Father In Law were known for their leadership at Audubon High School. After my Father In Laws passing, we kept in touch with Mr. Held periodically. He was such a genuine, sweet, caring man full of humor and light. It is true, he really was a gentleman. We are so sorry to hear of his passing. We feel so incredibly bad that we didn't know he passed to come to his funeral services. We wish we also would have had one last...

Condolences to the family. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of the time you spent together with James as you reflect on a life well lived. Psalm 90:10

To the Jim Held family! We were sorry to hear of Mr. Held's passing. He was a kind and gracious neighbor who was always ready to chat and inquire about our schools and growing family. We will miss him! Nancy and Andrew Quinn

I came to know Mr. Held quite well during my time at AHS (78-81). Mr. Held was a kind, fair man with quite the sense of humor. I enjoyed our discussions and always left with a smile on my face. My parents may not have been as humored as I was! I also enjoyed watching Mr. Held at the Spectrum working the crowd. His presence commanded attention. God bless you Sir and may you rest in peace. My condolences to the Held family.

I did not know Jim Held that well while a student at AHS (Class of 1968) but I got to know him somewhat from our reunions. He loved coming to them and the alumni just loved seeing him. He always had a crowd around him. He was perpetually cheerful with a big smile and a kind word for everyone. A man's man. A true gentleman. Looking back, I wish I had gotten to know him better earlier. As something of an observer, he was truly loved and revered by all who knew him. My condolences to his...

A good man will be missed

Jim Held was 'the warden'. First knew him as vice-principal roaming the halls of AHS keeping order and schmoozing with the students. He was a communicator extraordinary. 'Mr Held' left an indelible legacy at the school. Over the years I saw him around Audubon. Lately, he could be found the first Tuesday each month at the Legacy Diner (Webers) with fellow AHS retired teachers. Yesterday I saw the group at Webers and missed Jim. Now I know why. Godspeed Jim Held. You were a good and faithful...
