Not sure what to say?

I just found out I lost a very good friend - mentor.. He was a school teacher for the Vandalia School District, Jim helped so many people with his words of encouragement and his boldness not to hold any punches back to let you know when you're messing up.. He helped providing work for me over the years.. This man is one of the reasons I give back to many other's that are down on their luck. He taught me so much about love and respect for other's. I sometimes called him Dad he had no children...

Mr. Hempel was a great teacher. Still remember how he started off our class with one of Johnny Carson’s jokes from the night before. His excellent teaching built my confidence and earned me some college credits, too. He kept us high schoolers on our toes and taught us well.
