Not sure what to say?

My father, James H Hendrix, Jr, died in 2008. My sisters and other family talk of him often. He would have loved his four great-grandchildren! Thanks to all of you for your time in describing Dad´s meaning in your lives.

Thank you, Glenda, for your thoughts.

I am about 6 years late with this message but I want the family of Dr James Hendrix to know that he was solely responsible for the transformation of my face after being born with Goldenhar Syndrome. My family was unable to afford my surgeries and he performed them with some financial support of the wonderful March of Dimes. It made me able to function in a society that focuses much on the outward appearance of the person. He was a kind and very charitable man who I will cherish the memory...

Dr. Hendrix was God sent to me as I entered this world with my face not quite complete in March 1957. God used your wonderful father to complete my bilateral cleft lip/palate at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. He did all my early surgeries until he left Jackson. I remember my mom's sadness when he left. But he left me in the hands of Dr. Etheridge, who was a young Dr. at the time, and who had trained under Dr. Hendrix. I will forever be grateful for these two men whose devotion to...

What a sad loss of a wonderful man.
My prayers are with you daughters during this difficult time.

I was a burn victim patient of Dr. Hendrix for several years, from the time I was a toddler until 6th grade. He performed a series of reconstructive procedures to heal the damage of that accident. Your father was a blessing for me and my family. Our whole town knew and respected his name.

We loved him not only for his medical knowledge, but also for his patience, clarity, and...

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Hendrix's death. He was a staple in our family for 20 years. My mother and I were burned in a car wreak in Tupelo, MS in 1971. I was sent to Shriner's Burn Center in Galveston and my mother was sent to Brooke Army Memorial Burn Center in San Antonio. Two years later at the age of three, I (along with my mother), was referred to Dr. Hendrix in Memphis. He operated on me about 2 and sometimes 3 times a year until I was 21. I will never forget his...

I am so sorry to hear that Dr. Hendrix passed away. I was his patient from the time I was five until age 17. He did wonders with my cleft lip and palate. May the Lord be with your family throughout this sad time. He was a wonderful doctor.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. He must have been a wonderful man. I know he will be missed by all of you.
Sincerely,
Kathy Lane

Sarah,
So sorry to read about your father.
He was always a gentleman to me.
I hope everything else in your life is going good.
