Not sure what to say?

Dear Henning Family,

I am sorry to hear about Pastor Henning. I have fond memories from growing up in St. Matthew's Church especially the "lunch box" children's sermons. It was facinating that Pastor could come up with a sermon from a GI Joe figure or pink hair bow. And all the memories from confirmation make me laught, including cramming 6 kids into Pastor's Bronco to pick us up from school and playing hide and go seek when Pastor was always "it."

May your memories...

Henning Family,
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Pastor Henning. We have such loving memories of him and the time when we attended St. Matthew during college and when we were newlyweds (1988-1991). We'll never forget the wonderful marriage counseling sessions and the great message from our wedding. He always spoke from his heart in such a practical way that we were always so touched and could easily accept God's messages. He was always there for us when we needed him, and...

Dear Karen, Shelley, Christopher, Jonathan, and family,

I am so sorry to hear about your husband and dad. I have many happy memories going to St. Matthew. Pastor Jim made going to confirmation classes interesting and fun. He always had patience if my acolyte duties didn't proceed smoothly. He did an amazing job at my wedding in 1986. I always smile when I say his name.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Terri (Hansen) Nelson

Deaar Karen and Family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you. I know you might not remember me, however, I fondly remember all of you and it is with many wonderful and warm memories. You and Pastor Jim inspired me with your faith and how you both inspired others as you were both young and just starting out a new life with a new church and a young family. I drove school bus for Chris as he went to Ken-o-sha in Grand Rapids and I have never forgotten my wonderful times with you all. It...

Dear Karen and Family

We were shocked and saddened upon hearing the news of Pastor Jim's death. Although we hadn't seen you or Jim since moving to Port Huron 28 years ago, memories of him and those early years at St. Matthew came flooding back.

We had just moved to Ada, when Pastor Jim showed up on our doorstep. We were happy to learn of the little mission congreation having it's first meeting, the following Sunday!

We have so many wonderful memories. Because...

Dear Karen & family,

So sorry to hear about this news. I will always remember my years at St. Matthew because of Pastor Henning. He will always be my favorite for so many reasons. He even got my X husband who was Catholic, like coming to a Lutheran church. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Forever in my heart,
Karen McDonnell & family

Dear Karen, Children & Family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We have so many fond memories of all of you from our young lives at St. Matthews and the leadership of Pastor Jim. He so cared for us all. We all grew so much in those days in our faith and learning to serve the Lord because of him. As a young church, we had our trials and tribulations in those growth years; but the closeness of the congregation with his caring leadership brought us through.

We...

Elwyn and I send our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Pastor Henning. We remember very fondly Pastor Henning marrying us at St. Matthew and the interesting marriage counseling sessions we had. Pastor Henning also confirmed me in 1976. I will always remember his faith that he shared with me. I also will remember the willingness and patience he showed me when I was working as music director as part of the staff at St. Matthew Lutheran 1985-1990. He certainly loved...
