Wise Funeral Home - Bonham Obituary

James Ray Hewitt passed away peacefully on December 22,2023 in Sherman, TX.

James was born on December 4,1936 in Ladonia, TX to James and Grace Hewitt. James was the youngest of 4 siblings. James was raised with a strong work ethic and discipline. His favorite times were spent on a horse, he introduced his son and daughter to that love of horses also. His friends and family will remember him as having a quick wit, great sense of humor and quite the storyteller. He loved to reminisce about his home place, the farmhouse he grew up at in Bonham.

James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Hewitt, sisters, Mildred Williams, Bobbye Vermillion, and Anna Camp.

Left to cherish his memory are, his son, David Hewitt and wife Michelle, daughter, Jamie Salz and Eddie Hatch, grandson, Cole Johnson, and granddaughter, Payton Salz.

Please join the family to honor the life of James on December 30, 2023 at 1pm at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, TX. In lieu of flowers please donate to the ASPCA.
