Rev. James A. "Hink" Hinkle

Hinkle was a good man and equally good friend. Miss his humor and his wise counsel! A blessed man now celebrating in the presence of the most high God!

I searched through the internet for something and came across Hink's obituary. I was stunned and immediately saddened. I remember his warmth and sensitivity and wisdom, as many have said. He helped make the Floyd family the wonderful, caring family it is. Hink is greatly missed, I am sure, by Debbie and the entire Floyd family.

Hinkle, while it has been a couple of years since you left us to go and reap your well earned rewards; just know that you are missed my brother throughout the community. I just know you are keeping the "angels" singing and happy.

RIP Hink! You will be greatly missed by many... The greatest barber in the city with the biggest heart and full of wisdom. I appreciate all you poured into my son over the years... Prayers to you Ms. Carolyn, Krystal, Lil' James, and the rest of the family.

Hinkle will be truly missed by the entire Allen family, this man cut my fathers' hair (Terry) for years & then my dad started taking my brothers, cousins & all the other young men in his life. I have never witnessed an individual have so much patience with a screaming, wiggling child in my life. Thank you for the positive influence you made in all of our lives. RIH

For purely selfish reasons, I am simply heartbroken right now just learning of the passing of James Hinkle, however, I am so very honored to have known, worked with, and worked for such a great man (at Dryer's Barbershop), pleased to have witnessed his transition from a broken soul into a mighty and powerful man of God, and blessed to have had him in my life as a mentor as a child and friend as a man. You were never "just a barber." We will all miss your kindness, thoughtfulness and insight. Your family was blessed with your spiritual guidance and love. We were also blessed with your caring and professionalism as well as your respect. Thank you for your friendship and dedication. You truly will be missed, but as you always told me, "God don't make no mistakes." I know you are in his hands. Rest In Peace, dear friend.
