I saw Jim's portrait among many others a at a current exhibit at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, entitled Portrait of a Soldier, which led me to look a little closer at both his background and Army service. https://www.ahml.info/node/100010837 Although we never met, we were contemporaries. im so sorry to here about this terrible situation i did not know the sgt but i know he was a good man because we both share the name of james thomas hoffman im am a ez marine from the vietnam era and came back alive and stupid so i will say a prayer for him every nite im 59 years old and living in texas my peace be with his family and i know jesus has got him working on something ;james t hoffman graham texas 76450
