James L. Holbird, Sr.

HOLBIRD, James Louis Sr. – Of Swartz Creek, age 75, died Thursday, August 18, 2022 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.

Burial in White Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation 9 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

James was born in Dearborn, Michigan on February 24, 1947, the son of the late Bill and Peggy (Colvard) Holbird.

Jim graduated from Lowrey High School in Dearborn, attended Wayne State University and served in the U.S. Army.

Jim was employed as a truck driver for Crete Carriers until his retirement.

Surviving are children, Christine Holbird, Julie Holbird, Jennifer (Joseph) Whitman and James Holbird, Jr.;

2 grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Whitman;

2 brothers, Bill, Jr. (Mimi) Holbird and Robert Holbird;

sister, Charlotte Schonfeld;

several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sueanne.
