Ted and I were wondering why you and Jim hadn't been up. We found out why just yesterday. We are shocked and so very, very sorry. We send our condolences and wish there were some way we could ease your sorrow. We are thinking of you.

Such sad news. Jim was one of my best and brightest undergraduate research students. He was clever, independent, a creative thinker, and loved doing experiments. A great combination of skills that he carried forward in graduate school and into his career. Plus, he was one of the nicest, kindest students I have known. I very much enjoyed spending time with Jim at my retirement party last year. My thoughts are with his entire family at this difficult time.

The empty chair at the township hall signifies a great loss for Sharon Township and all that he gave to a place he loved so dearly. He will be missed.
