James E. Horton, a native of Mobile, AL was born on November 10, 1958 in Mobile, AL. He departed this life in the arms of his lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday December 18, 2015. He was the eldest of three, born to the late James E. (Ada Mae) Horton.
James attended Lillie B. Williamson High School. He was a long time employee of the Automotive Exchange.
James gave his life to Christ as a young adult and was a devout Christian until his death. He was a faithful member of El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan Yates and First Lady Sister Doris Yates.
James leaves to cherish his loving memory a devoted partner and wife of 40 years Nancy Horton; sibilings Letha and Jhon (Bo) of Mobile, children Angela, Willie, and Yvonne of Mobile; grandchildren Jessie, Keilar, Meshonda, and Jarvis of Fort Wayne, IN, Lamar, Shelexia, lil Yvonne (Maurice), Jameshia, Tija, and Natoria of Mobile. He also leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother-in-law Mrs. Pauline Cowin and host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Visitation Wednesday December 23, 2015 5pm to the 7pm funeral hour El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 1200 Gayle Street, Mobile, AL 36605 Reverend Jonathan Yates, Pastor.
Interment Thursday December 24, 2015 9am Whispering Pines Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
