Not sure what to say?

It was only yesterday when my wife, Linda and I attended the 21st Death Anniversary of the late Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs under the late President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Resting Place of Heroes) I remembered Jamie, who fondly called me when I visit then Corning Glass Works, "My friend in the Philippines". I kidded him when he said this by saying that he likes me not because of me but because, every time , I visit CGW, I make sure that I give you a box...

My wife, Linda and I wish to express our sincerest condolences to the family of the Jamie, who liked the Alhambra cigars, in a nice box engraved with JRH, that I usually gifted to him if I come to Corning for business meetings. Whenever he saw me, he always said, "How´s our man in Manila?". Jamie, with his signature suspenders, was a very kind and good CEO and individual. God speed , Jamie. That's been many yrs ago thou. His name I will never forget. That building which was located at 3900 Electroncs Dr. is all torned down now. Again my condolences to the Family. I enjoyed...

Dear Masie, please accept my deepest and most profound condolences on the passing of Jamie. I think of him often and was distressed to learn of his death. Jamie was such a wonderful member of the New York State Council on the Arts while I was there and his love and commitment to the arts infused his entire life. He was also one of the most decent, ethical, caring persons I was fortunate to come in contact with. I know you have many, many wonderful memories of your life together to help you...

Mrs Houghton, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I lived with you and your family while attending Corning Community college in 1972-1973 and during that time I looked after young James and Nina. My condolences to you as well, dear James and Nina. May you all find peace in the warm memories you have shared.  Jamie Houghton was a kind man and I will always remember him with great respect.

Maisie, so sorry to learn of Jamie's passing. I worked on the executive floor of CGW on Fifth Ave, managing passenger manifest for company aircraft. Saw you both frequently when you visited NYC. Sincere condolences. Connie Savarese

Jamie was an inspiration to all of us and especially me as a young newly minted Harvard MBA working at Corning under his leadership. I so appreciated his spearheading diversity initiatives especially for including women in the leadership ranks. May you find peace in knowing what a wonderful legacy he has left. Blessings, Susan Murphy Warren
