Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the whole family. I was in Mr. Hourigan's 5th grade class the same time Tom was in the 5th grade. Mr. Hourigan made learning much more enjoyable for us kids who had other things on our mind such as sports rather than academics. My favorite times were playing softball with our class while Mr. Hourigan did the pitching. Mr. Hourigan was a teacher in the truest sense.

To the Hourigan family...I am so sorry for your loss. I officiated numerous sports with Jim over the years. He was a man of style and substance with a wonderful sense of humor. To be able to make people smile and brighten their day with laughter is a gift. Jim had the gift. Goodbye my friend.

Jim was a gentleman on and off the field. He always had kind words for your team no matter if they won or lost.

Jim was a true gentleman. He always had the kindest words for everyone along with great stories..he will be truly missed !!

I have known Jim for a long time, 1st when I was a high school basketball coach and he was a basketball official. Later I became a softball official and Jim was a frequent officiating partner. Jim was a kind man who always had a kind word. He enjoyed what he did and always found a way in inject his great humor into the game - he helped to keep things in perspective. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dear Jim, Rendell and Kelsey- Your Poppy was a pleasure to be with. His visits to Atlanta were special!! He will be missed.

Jim was terrifice person! He was always great to have on our officairing crew. His stories were always great. I never met a person who could recite the presidents and states alphabetically front and backwards.
You will be missed!

I will always remember Mr. Hourigan as my favorite teacher of all time. I had him in 5th grade at Southgate School in Loudonville. I remember to this day the things he taught me in clever ways. I will always remember all the presidents in order, something he always said would come in very handy in the future. I still cannot do those word jumbles in the paper without remembering doing them every day in class with Mr. H. His love of life was infectious and I am so glad to have been a small part...
