Not sure what to say?

As Medical school classmate U. of Penn, I remember him warmly - graduated 1962. He had the ability to reach out across disciplines though we shared an interest in psychiatry. This is a nice thing to do.

I write the 3 yrs after Dr Hughs passing. I was both a patient and colleague of Dr Hughs at Roosevelt Hospital. Just finding out now of his passing brings great sadness. Dr Hughs was an amazing doctor. I will always remember his great compassion to his patients and a brilliant physician. RIP ...

I am so sorry to write a year later that I find your news. Dr. Hughes, You left such an unforgettable impression as a Neurosurgeon while working at Harlem Hospital that I seriously considered medical school. You are my hero and yes, I still take your message to heart. I may never be such a legend like you but thank you so much for having faith in me. May God Bless Your Family!

I will never forget Dr. Hughes. He was a hero among men.

Thank you Dr. Hughes for taking a chance and giving me the...

Jim and I were so joyous in sharing our memories of Philadelphia General Hospital (PGH) were we served our internships. I share in your loss and will miss his fresh smile.

I always adored Uncle Jim, and am so saddened that his adventure has come to a close. His enthusiasm was endless and contagious, and he had that special gift of making you feel like you were the most interesting person he'd ever talked to. I treasure and adore my memories of Uncle Jim ..... a special and vivacious light in this world has gone out.

Uncle Jim was one of a kind - one of the most fun and interesting people I've known in my life. I'll forever remember his fabulous story-telling and warmth. He and his zest for life are already sorely missed. My sympathies to the entire Hughes family.
