James HUNDLEY Obituary

HUNDLEY, James Cornelius Age 97, passed away March 13, 2011. Survived by his wife of 73 years, Rubye Longley Hundley; son, Dr. James Michael (Jane Elam) Hundley, Lebanon, TN; sister, Maggie Mosses, Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Dr. Rachel Hundley and her husband Keith Infantino, Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Katherine Newton. He was a 1937 graduate of the University of Tennessee, received the first degree in Agricultural Engineering, awarded by UT. During WWII, 2nd Lt. Hundley served in the US Navy as an ordnance officer and as CO of a naval base, developing and testing Naval Ordnance. He was Manager of the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association for 27 years. He served to prepare the initial ground work in Venezuela to establish a rural electrification program there. He served on the Board of West End United Methodist Church in Nashville, was a member of Downtown Nashville Lions Club, a Master Mason and a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Larry Locke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Interfaith Dental Clinic or Healing Hands International.
