HURLEY, JAMES A. "JIM" Ypsilanti, MI Age 83, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 following a short illness. He was born March 14, 1931 in Wayne County, WV, the son of Oliver and Susie (Billups) Hurley. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim was employed by Ford Motor Company for 33 years, retiring in 1986 from the Ypsilanti plant. He loved motorcycles, horses, golfing, NASCAR and children. He attended First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: his loving wife, Ernestine; one son, Jimmy Hurley; stepchildren, Diana Gilliam, David (Paula) Harless, Jeffrey (Beverly) Carr and Jim (Kathie) Carr; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Eilleen and Florene; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise; second wife, Betty; his parents; one daughter, Darlene Hurley; two brothers, William and Leonard; and one sister, Edie. The funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Stark Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Stony Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-9 pm Friday.
