Not sure what to say?

I was going back and reminiscing over different golf experiences from way back in the late 60´s and early 70´s and immediately Jim Hurt´s name came to mind. I believe to this day from the age of 17 to 19 Jim Hurt had to be on the cusp of becoming a world class player. If he had turned pro at that time and had a manager to keep his concentration solely on becoming a great tour pro, I think he would be in the record books as a very successful golfer. I am sorry to hear of his passing but I do...

I worked at the downtown Y with Jim. He and I became really good friends. We played golf together several times and I would and I would go over to his house often. Jim was a great guy to be around. He knew how to make you feel good and he had a hilarious nickname for everyone. When I googled his name to see if I could catch up with him I saw that he had passed. I would have liked to have seen him one more time.

Jim was very good friend of mine and I will miss him dearly he was a kind man and the world will not be the same without him in it.I had the pleasure of praying with him right before he died and so glad I was there when he needed it the most. Love you buddy RIP you deserve it.

Jim and I were good friends for over 50 years. Although we had drifted apart, I know he would have done anything for me and my family. Jim was a two-time City of Mobile golf champion and a star golfer for Brevard Junior College and Middle Tennessee State University. He could imitate anyone's voice inflection and body mannerisms. He had a self deprecating wit that could make a whole room break out in laughter. Jim's paintings and molded figurines attest to his intelligence, something that he...

Jim led an extraordinary life and tried to do it on his own terms. He seemed to love all things fast (especially cars & women) and loved having a good time and seeing other people enjoy themselves. Jim had a tender heart and a deep sensitivity to both the things and people he loved. I will remember Jim's big personality and his generous spirit. Sending my deepest sympathies to Jim's family and friends.

Jim was a friend of mine for 45 years and I will
miss him. We met in college and kept in close
touch all this time.
Jim was an excellent golfer winning several
college tournaments and the Mobile Metro. He
also was a great artist.
Jim liked people and they liked him...he could
talk freely and easily to anyone.
It won't be the same for me without "The Hurt."
Jim...may you rest in peace.

I was sorry to read about Jim. I knew him from the downtown Y. If there was a problem he would take care of it. He was a friend to all the members.

I first met Jim (the Blade) 25 years ago at the Downtown Mobile YMCA. He was the best employee they ever had. he knew everyone by name and had a nickname for each.
He became a good friend of mine and my wife. We will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.
