James was a dear friend and a co-worker. Since I have moved out here I missed all the people I worked with. James sat on my team right in front me. He was a very nice, well mannered, and a friendly man. James will be missed by family and friends.

Jim was the best big brother a girl could ever have. He stayed with me all through St. James School. I even remember family vacations to Gettysburg when Jim wrote "The South will rise again" in the museum guest book. We were very close when we were little and then after my mother died, we went our separate ways for awhile. Fate took a turn when we lost our Dad and the funeral got rescheduled at the last minute to St. James Church. Jim said it was my mother's way of getting us three kids...

How much fun it was to be with Jim at family gatherings! His jokes and anecdotes made any occasion that much more pleasant, and while he was always modest about his amazing Civil War knowledge and expertise, he shared that knowledge in a very lively and interesting way.
