James E. Ickes

James Edward Ickes James E. "Popeye" Ickes, age 60 of Canton, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. He was employed at Rubbermaid for 19 years and served in the U.S. Navy. His loving heart and unique humor never failed to bring smiles to loved ones faces. Jim was a very generous and caring husband, father and grandfather who lived for the experience of attending the sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his loving parents, Earl and Ruth (Raley) Ickes. Surviving him are his wife of 23 years, Kathleen; son, James Ickes; stepsons, Steve and Eric Nagy; grandsons, Joshua Nagy and Beckham Ickes; sister, Cathi Swallen and Labrador, Betsey. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family would like to offer special thanks to the ICU staff at Mercy Medical Center.
