Not sure what to say?

My best memory of the Monsignor or Father Jim as we called him at fire headquarters. Was when he asked me if I could solve a problem he was having at St. Michael´s Church. He knew I was a builder and asked if I could hang a canopy over the St. Jude statue, as the votive candles were staining the ceiling of the church. I designed it and with Fathers approval had it made and with a crew of other firefighters we hung it. I wish I had a picture of it.

Single Memorial Tree

Father (Monsignor) Jim was a true credit to the Trenton Fire Department, serving as Chaplain from 1983 until his death!! He will be truly missed as the monthly retiree's breakfast. RIP Father

Msgr was always there for us and our kids when he served as Pastor at Our Lady Of Lourdes in Milltown and our friendship continued over the years,With sincere sympathy,May God Bless,

My heart goes out to Msgr Jim Family. My heart is broken as we lost a good person in this world and Priest who really cared for others. I had the privilege to work for Msgr. Jim at St.Michaels Church. I have fond memories of Barbara and I laughing at Msgr. Jim and his jokes every morning, while they did the crossword puzzle together. I always enjoyed helping with the St.Jude Novenas and serving his guests. He was someone I thought so dearly of, I will always cherish my time with...

He was the best. He loved to laugh. He told a good joke when he was with us firefighters. He will be missed. RIP

I had the privilege of working closely with Msgr. Jim in assisting couples seeking marriage in the Church. He was a brilliant canon lawyer but so humble and pastoral. He hosted a Christmas party a few years back when I tasted my first traditional plum pudding. He shared the recipe with me and surprised me with a tin mould that arrived in the mail so I could always make great Christmas pudding for my own family. He will be deeply missed but is now with God. May he rest the n peace.

To many of us who went to St. Joachim's and Cathedral High in the 50s and 60's, the church was at the forefront of our family lives. While the obituary words state that Jimmy was ordained a priest in April 1976, his closest friends know that Msgr. James considered himself a priest many years before that. It is all he ever wanted to be. Jimmy had an altar in his basement on Washington Street in Trenton's famous 'Burg when he was maybe fourteen ( I was there many times) and his love for God,...
