Mr. James Weldon Jackson


Age 81 was born November 22, 1939 in Flint, MI to Carrie and David Jackson. James attended Clark Elementary, Whittier Middle School and graduated from Flint Central High School in 1959. After High School James entered the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Hawaii. Upon his honorable discharge in January of 1965 James began his career with Fisher Body retiring in the mid 90's.


James was a kind hearted, mild mannered brother-in-law and uncle.


Although never married or had children of his own, James loved spending time with his sister-in-law, Dorothy; nieces, Adriane, Ashley, and Andrea; nephew, Aaron and great-nephews, Gavan and Grant.


He also enjoyed fishing, watching classic movies, the history channel and sports!


James leaves to cherish his memory: Brother Kenneth (Pamela) Jackson; Sister In-Laws: Dorothy, who cared and nurtured him for the past 10 years, Bonnie, & Maryland Jackson. 5 Nephews: Michael ( Ariane), Terrance (Veronica) Kevin (Janeen) JC (Bisola) and Special Nephew Aaron (Gislain) Jackson 7 Nieces: Krisha, Cynthia, Lori, Mutimma and Special Nieces Adriane, Ashley (Glennon) Jones and Andrea (Ishmael) Jackson Great Nieces: Arneice (James) Brown, Sydney, Kayla, Lyndsy ChaKayla, Ifeayo, Adeymei Special Great Nieces: Kaitlyn and Kayla Simpson Great Nephews: Mycal, Khia, Kevin Jr Special Great Nephews: Gavan and Grant Jackson; special friends, LC Hatter and Evan Davis.


James was preceded in Death by: Father David Jackson, Mother Carrie Jackson Brothers: Donald, David, Carl and Harry Jackson Nephew: Gregory Jackson.


Visitation will held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11 am, with public viewing 11 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.


Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, to be announced later.


Zoom Memorial service immediately following starting at 12:30 p.m. for family and friends, private service only at the funeral home
