Not sure what to say?

Starting as far back as Mt. Auburn Elementary School through Woodrow Wilson High, we knew him only as "Officer Jennings"--the district's safety officer. He impressed us with his size, red hair (I recall), big smile and white cap tucked under his arm during school assemblies. Mostly, it was just because he was a nice guy. And, for us impressionable kids, that meant a relatively positive view of the Dallas Police Department.

In later years, I heard his voice at high school and...

James Jennings was and is the embodiment of a true Texan. It was my pleasure to know him, and a privilege to have lived in the same development as him in these last years of his life.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend, who I will remember for the rest of my life.

One of my most cherished gifts I have ever recieved was James' book about his travels throught Texas. What a great man. What a great example to us all.

I had the honor of meeting James through my husband Danny about 8 years ago and he made a lasting impression. We love to hear his fasinating stories, updates on the rodeo world and most importantly his right-on-the-money advice on life during tough situations. A complete gentleman, proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather, loving husband and loyal friend. We are honored to call him our friend. May God bless and keep his family and friends as we grieve the loss of this wonderful man and...

James and I were hired by the Dallas Police Department on the same day, and he has remained my good friend through all these years.

Our deepest condolences to his family.

In over 30 years of sharing announcing duties with James, I found him to be a professional and dedicated member of all his associations. He lived a good life, law enforcement official, salesman, announcer, school Board member, writer, and adventurer, and above all, husband and father. His talents and jest for life will be missed.

Sincere condolences to the entire Family.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Mr. Jennings at Hughesco/Adidas and he was one of my favorite co-workers.
