James “Jim” Bellman, age 64 of Nappanee, IN passed away unexpectedly at 5:20am on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born November 5, 1957 in Bremen, IN to Glen and Mary Ellen (Croussore) Bellman.  Jim was a 1976 NorthWood High School graduate and was a lifetime Nappanee area resident.  On February 7, 1988 he married Rhonda Miller.  Mr. Bellman worked for many years at Holiday Rambler in Wakarusa, IN before working at Godfrey Marine in Elkhart, IN.   Jim loved fishing with his dad and he enjoyed attending Harness Racing at Nappanee Raceway.  He also enjoyed bowling and had bowled a 300 game.  Jim was an avid sports fan; he loved his Purdue Boilermakers, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and those who attend services are encouraged to wear their Boiler, Cubs, and Bears gear. Jim also loved his dog Molly.  Mr. Bellman is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rhonda Bellman of Nappanee; 3 children: Amanda (Jesse) Fritcher of Crown Point, IN, Skye Bellman of Nappanee, and Tabitha Bellman of Lafayette, IN; 3 grandchildren: Michael, Emily, and Sarah Fritcher; 1 brother, Todd Bellman of Nappanee; and 4 sisters: Terri Geyer of Nappanee, Deb (Ron) Ross of Bristol, IN, Tammy Martz of Goshen, IN and Tina (Dan) Newcomer of Nappanee. He was preceded in death by his parents.  Friends and family may call from 11am – 2pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, followed by a 2pm graveside at South Union Cemetery with great nephew Jacob Falk officiating.  Following services, light refreshments will be served at the Nappanee First Brethren Church.  Memorial contributions in Jim’s name can be given to the Elkhart County Humane Shelter.

Bellman- I will miss seeing you first thing every morning and our lunch crew is not the same without you. You were such a caring good hearted man. I definitely will miss you ever so much. I hope to see you on the other side

Jim, it was a pleasure to work with you all these years at Godfrey Marine. We will kiss your sense of humor and I don't think there was ever a day you weren't smiling. Prayers go out for your family left behind that God would comfort them in the days ahead. Rest in heaven until we meet again.
