Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel - Speedway Obituary

On Saturday, August 15, 2020 James (Jimmy) Scott Owens passed away at age 50.
Jimmy was born on October 8, 1969 to James and Joyce Owens. He grew up on
the west side of Indianapolis with his only sibling Rachel. He worked in installation
and construction and had a side business in auto detailing. Jimmy had two sons
Little Jimi and Jacob. He loved his family and eagerly awaited every family
gathering.
Jimmy loved music. When he was a young teenager, he started playing the drums
and enjoyed making music. He related songs to everything and had a way of lifting
you up with the perfect song.
Jimmy was loved by everyone who knew him. He was easy to talk to and had a
great sense of humor. His beautiful eyes and infectious smile could light up any
room. Jimmy always had a positive outlook on life and fought a good fight until
the end.
Jimmy is survived by his father James and his mother Joyce, his two sons Jimi and
Jacob, Sister Rachel and brother-n-law Jeff Gearries, his nieces Andrea and Ali,
and great nephews Haiden, Kacey, James and Easton. Jimmy was going to be a
grandfather for the first time this coming January.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Conkle Funeral Home, 76

You were my first love, my precious friend. What an amazing spirit & soul you are. I am so very blessed to have had you in my life, for all the times we were able to share together, especially these last 4 years. I am extremely grateful for the companionship we shared...so many great talks, heartfelt moments, laughs, tunes and shows watched together. I can't thank you enough for letting me spend time with you & your family...I absolutely know they meant the whole world to you. It deeply...

You were not only my uncle but so much more. I can’t believe this is happening. I will forever miss you! 29 years was all I had with you wish I could have had more. When I was a little girl I called you uncle daddy because that was how much I loved you. Mom said your the reason I love so many diff foods because you fed me all kinds of weird stuff lol. Idk what I’m gonna do without you doesn’t seem real.
Fly high my favorite uncle!
Peace & love,
❤Your niece Andi

Rest in peace Jimmy ! You will truly be missed ❣

Will miss you cousin Jimmy. I remember him showing me around Indy when I first came to America in the mid 80s, taking his dad's Thunderbird Turbo coupes (several over the years) for very spirited drives, and also when he (unsuccessfully) tried to teach me how to play drums.

Prayers for all of you!

Mark, Barry, Randy & Darrin Napier.
