Not sure what to say?

Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. If there was ever a guy to bring a smile to me, it was him. Every week I'd stop in and he'd take my hand so happy to see me. I loved his stories of WWII and working in the coal mines. He made my day one time when he played the piano and my sister and I danced to it. He also remembered working with my father-in-law and husband on construction jobs. I was told he was a really good guy and funny. His family was so lucky to have had him. I will miss him. One of...

Dear Johnson family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am Hobe Lawson's granddaughter. I am so touched that you mentioned my papaw in the obit. My papaw loved the Johnson brothers Ray and Jim. As a child I remember both of them coming to visit my grandparents. They would laugh, talk, and tell their stories which I loved to listen to. They would take time to talk to me which was so special to me. Both then and now, I could feel so much kindness flowing from them. Thank you Jim Johnson for...

My Uncle Jimmy was the best!! I will forever remember his big smile and his hugs. As a little girl he made me feel so special as I served him and my Daddy (Ray) coffee. Later in life, I found out he treated everyone like they were special. Heaven has gained a special angel. To all the family, so sorry for your loss. Let your memories comfort you. Rest in peace Uncle Jimmy from your niece, Cheryl Lynn and husband, Frank Kidd.

So sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was a dear friend to me from day one at Cardiac Rehab. I loved our conversations, his harmonica playing from "Danny Boy" to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", his delicious beans grown and jarred with love and his stories about Clinchco and his family. Everyone knew Jimmy. Always smiling and positive. You are all so blessed to have had him as your dad, grandpa and great-grandpa and I am blessed to have called him friend. Wonderful memories. God bless...

I am so sorry to hear this , but I know he is in a better place. What I remember most is his HUGE smile. He was always so nice to me as a kid and always so friendly to everyone he met. RIP Mr Johnson.

Uncle Jim was a special man. I cannot think of one time that I didn't see a smile or grin on his face. That's what I will remember forever. Family man, god ly man and a true patriot. Until we meet again Uncle Jim.

Jim and family, I´m so very sorry for your loss. Your dad was so nice. I remember him fondly from years ago when we were young and lived close to each other. Also in recent years. I enjoyed listening to him play his harmonica. Hugs and prayers

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I enjoyed meeting your dad and relating to him that my family was from the same part of Virginia. It was quite an honor that he named me Miss Grundy! You will be dearly missed. Jennifer Kurth Lehrich
