Such a sweet and caring Doctor who saved my life after a major car accident in 1975. I had internal bleeding and given less than a 5 percent chance to live. Dr Kane mentioned my age was with me. I was 25 years old when the accident occurred. I was able to raise my daughter and now blessed with 14 year old twins; Jack and Abigail Abrams in Knoxville; TN. My daughter Shelly Abrams is married to Dr Jeff Abrams; pediatrician at Childrens hospital in Knoxville; TN. My daughter thanks you; I...

Deeply sorry for your loss. Mom and I were honored to have him as our doctor.
Very sorry Dr. James Michael Kane Jr.

We give our heartfelt sympathy to the entire family of Dr. Kane. I first met Dr. Kane when I was a staff nurse at Northwest Community Hospital and scrubbed and circulated for many of his procedures. Our friendship continued when I was at Holy Family Hospital. It is there when I started "babysitting" for he and his wife Gloria. They had me come many times when he was hunting foxes in Wayne. One of these time they actually had me accompany them on the hunt (I had to go out and buy a whole...

I was so honored to meet him, while I worked for his daughter and son in law. I remember calling him Dr. Dad. He was a most remarkable man and he raised a great family. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Rest In Peace, Dr Kane. What a joy you were to work with at Northwest Community Hospital. You were, by far the kindest, most compassionate doctor I ever worked with. I recall the joy in your eyes and your voice when you used to plan surprisevacations for your entire family, not telling anyone where the final destination was until you all arrived. You have now arrived at your final destination, and what a joyous journey it was. You will be sorely missed, but forever remembered for the kind man...

Kane Family,
So sorry to hear the sad news. What a great gentleman, doctor and surgeon! Took his advice once when in my 30's as to whether to opt for him to perform a surgery. 40 years later, still enjoying doing the fun things (golf) that I feared would have been curtailed with so many more. Thanks Doc, you made a big difference in so many of our lives, at hospitals, in the community and around Saint Viator. Rest in peace with our Lord.

I was a Surgical Tech for 25 years at NWCH. Dr. Kane was always a gentleman, never raised his voice. He exuded confidence. I enjoyed scrubbing with him. My condolences to his family.
