James Keeffe passed away on May 26, 2015 in Seattle, Washington. The obituary was featured in The Seattle Times on June 16, 2015.
My advanced ROTC instructor at Central Washington State College me with life messages that still esonate with me to this date as I approach 80 years of age. His memories still feel me with warm, strong positive feelings. I hope all is well with his pretty wife and his six children. How privileged I was to have known him, and I remain inspired by my visits with him in 1963-64.

Jim, I met your father one evening at Overlake Hospital while working as a security officer. You and I are close to the same age, as are our fathers. On this particular even I was given the chance to share a few minutes of his life, and some of his stories. My father served in the US Navy during WW II. At the time of this note he's still alive and for his age healthy, for which I'm blessed. I am reading, Two Gold Coins and a Prayer. Such a wonderful piece of work of history too soon...

Jim,
I only knew your 'Pop' for the short period of time we visited on your military leave. However, it was always evident in the way you spoke of him and the stories you told how deeply you loved and admired him. For me, he is forever etched in my mind calmly and happily working on his VW's in the driveway with Halfcat and those sandwich-stealing spaniels milling about. My whole heart goes out to you. Deepest condolences to you and yours.
