James Kenealy Obituary

James Leo Kenealy

June 4, 1924 - March 25, 2017

Jim was born to James and Helen (Lind) Kenealy in Seattle, WA. His sister Norma came along 4 years later. After high school, Jim joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and after serving, then entered the Merchant Marines where he traveled the world. In the late 1960's, he bought a 1914 Model T, which he restored and enjoyed over the next 5 years in his garage. He loved talking cars and Model T accessory searching with other collectors. He later collected antique phonographs and music machines. Jim was a member of the Puget Sound chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America, Masonic University Lodge No. 141, the Nile Shrine, and Teamsters Local #174.

Jim truly loved life, his family and home in Lake Forest Park. He leaves his devoted wife, Sherry, 3 children, Jimmy (Judy), Diana and Victoria; 4 grandchildren, Breanne (Jima), Emily, Angela, and Zac; and 3 great grandchildren, Xaylon, Jrue and Layla.

Beloved husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend.

Jim will be greatly missed.

Dad: He's there, a firm foundation...through all our storms of life. A sturdy hand to hold in times of stress and strife. A true friend we can turn to when times are good and bad. One of our greatest blessings, the man we call our Dad.

A celebration of Jim's life will be Sunday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Lake Forest Park, 98155; 206-362-5525.

So many fond memories of rainy afternoons chatting with Jim about cars, phonographs, and family. He was a good hearted person and I really enjoyed the times across those years. Rest In Peace, Jim. I think of you often. David Lundin

We are going to miss You so much! You came to visit us in 2007 at Fidalgo Bay Resort in Anacortes, Washington. While strolling thru the shops in Anacortes, I asked if You would be OK with me calling You Dad! Of course Your answer was a resounding Yes! I also had the privilege of drivingYour Northstar powered Cadillac that day. You and your loving wife Sherry introduced Judy and I to Kopey's, an award winning restaurant in Waterville, Wa. A place you have to see to believe!

We share a passion for automobiles , although I never reached your heights

You told me the most impressive place in the U.S. for You was Niagara Falls. Guess I am going to have to visit there. We Love You, Dad

Your loving son,

James Leo Kenealy III / Cummings

Dear Dad, I'm so full of all the memories I have. Good memories of riding on the scary rides at Disneyland with me and always being my true hero. You taught me things you said not just any girl would know, as I was your right hand gal when starting the "T". So much I could brag about you. OK I brag a lot and essays for school were wrote about my number one Dad. Thank You for loving me as much as I love you. That's a lot of love. I miss you .. So many good memories. You and mom dancing when Lawrence Welk came on made me laugh . I will leave this at that. Love you and I know your with Jesus and that's pure peace. Xo
