the following was read at the funeral, July 17th, 2010, written by Jim's son, Doug. . .
"In case I don’t get the chance to say it to you personally – Thank you for coming today – to remember & honor my Dad. I very much appreciate it – it is encouraging.

I was asked if I would share something – please forgive me that I have someone else read this – my throat has been locking up quite a bit lately.

This is tough – so many thoughts, emotions, & memories...

To Jan and Family- You are in our thoughts and prayers. I am not sure if you will recognize the name, however I am Thomas and Linda Collards daughter (Ruthie), and saw this and thought of all memories we had with you and your family. He is with our Lord now and how happy I am for him, may you find peace and comfort in Him at this difficult time. Ruth Miller and family

Dear Aunt Jan & family,

Dear Ones ... Although we sorrow not as others who have no hope, our hearts are saddened with the loss of our dear brother Jim, but our faith will soon give way to sight when we will meet with him again. We will always remember his love, his special wit and the twinkle in his eye ... he truly was one special brother.
