Mr. King was by far the most influential teacher I had in high school and college for that matter. I attribute so much of my success to the "red pen" that he slashed through my essays, refusing to accept mediocrity. :) He pushed me to excel and he helped me to sharpen a skill set of persuasive writing that remains invaluable. I was so very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. King. He was the most influential teacher I have ever had. He taught me the beauty of words and gave me the ability to express myself eloquently. I had the pleasure of having him as a teacher when he first arrived at Beachwood High School and remained in contact with him for quite some time. I was so saddened to learn of the death of my favorite teacher in high school! Mr. King was amazing! He took a great interest in me, allowing me into his advanced class even though I was a year younger than the other students. He taught diagramming of sentences, which no one does any more, and it was invaluable to helping my writing, and even my thinking.
