Mr. King was by far the most influential teacher I had in high school and college for that matter. I attribute so much of my success to the "red pen" that he slashed through my essays, refusing to accept mediocrity. :) He pushed me to excel and he helped me to sharpen a skill set of persuasive writing that remains invaluable. I was so very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. King. He was the most influential teacher I have ever had. He taught me the beauty of words and gave me the ability to express myself eloquently. I had the pleasure of having him as a teacher when he first arrived at Beachwood High School and remained in contact with him for quite some time. His intelligence, compassion and integrity will be with all of us for a long time. Please accept my deepest sympathy-it was an honor to have known him....

I was so saddened to learn of the death of my favorite teacher in high school! Mr. King was amazing! He took a great interest in me, allowing me into his advanced class even though I was a year younger than the other students. He taught diagramming of sentences, which no one does any more, and it was invaluable to helping my writing, and even my thinking.
