Not sure what to say?

My thoughts go to the family.

Greatly saddened by this loss. Mr. Kopp was a kind man and very interesting to talk to. MEE

Dear Sue - My sincerest sympathies to you and your family. May your happy memories comfort you in the months ahead. I'm sorry I have to work on Saturday so I won't be able to attend the memorial service. But I am thinking of you.

Jim played hoops for my dad at phs just ahead of me. Good player and seemed liked a good guy too. Gone way to early. My condolences.

Dear Sue and family,
We are shocked and dismayed to learn of Jim's passing much too early in his good life. We have happy memories of you all on Forestel Loop. The racoon figurine you gave me when we left still stands guard on our picnic table, Sue.

Dear Sue and Family,
Jim was a wonderful, thoughtful, compassionate gentleman and colleague. I remember with great fondness our dinner at your home in VA many years ago and later, my talk at the Lewis & Clark library. My thoughts are with you.

We have his books on display on a table now. Somehow that keeps him near.

My sincere sympathies to the James Kopp family. James' article, "Forty-One Cents" in the Oregon Historial Society led me just last month to one of James' siblings and determine that we are distant relatives. I regret greatly that I was unable to meet James before he passed away.

He seemed to be a unique combination of scholar and man-of-action. I was very impressed with his intelligence and level-headedness, and always respected him very much. I know the community of librarians and scholars in Portland will miss him greatly. This world was a better...
