Jim, When you were Chaplain at Oak Park Hospital, and I lived in nearby Berwyn, sometimes I attended Mass there. And thought "What a giift!" Your Homilies were down to earth, common sense, what we needed to hear to lift our spirits & get motivated. You are in my heart forever. Thank you for giving me hope. Pray for us Fr. Jim... Love, your cousin, Jeanne

What a surprise to see that Fr. Jim had returned Home. He was a charter member of St. Florian KC Council 12911 of the Chicago Fire Dept. Firefighters/Paramedics and will be sadly missed by us all.
It was a beautiful sight to see him on the altar at the CFD services con-celebrating our memorial masses and what a good friend to our Brother Knights. He WAS special to us and our sincere condolence to his family.
Vivat Jesus Fr. Jim -- Go with God.

Fr. Jim touched all of us in Joe & Helen Kovarik's family when shortly before Dad's death, Fr. Jim happened to meet a woman from on France on his hospital rounds. As they talked, Fr. Jim told her that Joe's oldest brother Jim - Fr. Jim's own father - had been killed in WWII and was buried in a French cemetery. She offered to find his grave when she returned home and send pictures of the gravesite. She did so, and Dad was able to hold them in his hands and weep as he at last saw where his...

I'm still in a state of disbelief. His death is too soon. My sudden sadness is offset by the many memories of us cousins playing together. The childhood memories will always remain. Those were good times among family--aunts, uncles, and cousins--on Chicago's Southside. And a visit as "Fr. Jim" to our Minnesota home is also retained in the Book of Memories.

Jim - What a shock to hear you are gone. We were just talking about you last night - I was telling Armin how the fried calamari tastes rubbery in the USA, but that it was very tender in Naples at the restaurant you took me to. Thank you for the personally guided tour through Rome. I appreciated your hospitality and enjoyed your easy-going company very much. I have fond memories of the time we spent together in Italy. I am sure you are with Jesus in Heaven, now. See you later - Your first...

As a member of the Villa Desiderata Community in McHenry, Illinois where Fr. Jim had been saying Sunday Masses, I was shocked to get this sad news. --- He will be missed by many, but may we find comfort in that he is now in the loving arms of Jesus...
Eternal rest grant unto him, 0 Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
Amen.
Thank you, Fr. Jim.
