Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Jims passing, seven years after the fact. He was an incredibly impactful teacher and mentor, and I was so lucky to study bass with him at Buff State (83-87). He was such a kind, creative, challenging, supportive intellectual on many levels. Had it not been for Jim, I probably would not have gone onto graduate school, earning a PhD in English and becoming a professor. He taught me so much about teaching and interdisciplinary inquiry, and I think about him often, whether...

I'm very saddened to hear of the passing of this wonderful gentleman.
I first met him in the early 70's when I was a teen and taking Classical Guitar lessons from Teddy Annas. She introduced me to Jim, and I introduced my best friend Frank to him, and he took Bass lessons from Jim.
I knew Jim as an awesome musician and a very friendly, cheerful and beautiful person. He will be missed.
My sympathy to his family and his many friends.
I hope you're jammin' away in...

Please accept our deepest sympathy. I have alot of memories of our families getting together on Berkshire Avenue for summer picnics and New Years Eve.
Rest in peace Jim.

Mr. K. was one of the best bass and music teacher's I ever had. He taught me a lot about jazz and playing. He will be missed, and remembered, by many.

Jim was an amazing teacher and musician. Peace to him and his family.
