Not sure what to say?

Normal only felt like home after knowing Betsy and Jim. Even once I moved away, I would only know I was home because Jim would greet me from his driveway every visit. He was funny. He was kind. And he was always there. Sorry to hear he passed. But I know someday I will see him and Betsy waving from their lawn, two doors down. Welcoming me home one more time. Rest easy, friend.

Jim was the most loyal person I've ever met. We would talk for hours about his children and grandson. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments. He was a vault of historical information about the town of Normal and his stories were so engaging. He was a daily presence on the trail at O'dark hundred. He would drop everything yo help a friend, and luckily for me, a neighbor. My kids and I were very lucky to have him in our lives. Fell Ave will never be the same.

Jim became a constant in me and my children's lives ever since his Mom got sick and became my neighbor. I could count on many things from this devoted family man; including stories about his children, grandson, current Cubs stats, all about Georgia and countless historical facts. A dear friend indeed. He will be greatly missed.

Single Memorial Tree

I was saddened to hear of Jim´s passing. He was a very nice guy that would help in any way he could if his friends needed him. Sending prayers during this difficult time to family and friends.

The first day I met Jimmy, we became fast friends. Loved our long talks about high school sports and especially talking about our beloved Cubbies. RIP my friend!!!!

I work with and for Jim at State Farm Insurance in Duluth for several years. Hate to hear of his passing. He was a fun guy to be around at work and outside of the office. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
