Not sure what to say?

Jimmy, from your friend Blister,
I have many fond memories working with you at B&C. Those were the best days of my life. Your loyalty, your understanding and patience for slow people (like me), your genuine caring for people, and your easygoing, but positively can-do attitude made a HUGE impression on me. I will never forget the many things you did for me and my brother.

Jimmy from your friend COD24; you were the free spirit for many of us in MB. Quick with a smile or a laugh or a practical joke but always there to help if needed. It continues to be true that the good die young. You now have the duty to start another reunion date for your friends who will eventually join you. My sympathy for your family I can know their loss because we all feel the same way. Because of you, and convincing me to go on a blind date that I never would, my wife of 37 years and I...

Jimmy was a dear friend in high school and I am really sorry to hear of your loss. God bless the whole family.

During the services it was so heart warming to see how much Jimmy Lathan was loved and respected by so many wonderful people. It was obvious by the remarks and laughter that everyone knew Jimmy. The family thought his friends would like to see Jimmy’s Grandson Gavin (7 years old) and see a connection through some special pictures. I thought the pictures could produce a big smile and a warm feeling in your heart. Someone had spoke about Jimmy carrying a fish across the stage and he had a...

My thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy's family and with my friends, Sea-Cruz.

Jimmy drove a big white pickup truck when he worked for the Farms. Somehow, I always met him at the intersection as he made that turn from Oak Street to 9th Avenue North heading toward the Pavilion. He ALWAYS had that big grin on his face. I will remember those glory days when he was in charge. And his stories of Earl Husted and the respect and admiration he had for that great man were brought into most every conversation we had over recent years. RIP Jimmy. Another Myrtle Beach voice...

I worked for and with Jimmy at the Pavilion. Always had a story.I will miss him ,but never forget him. My condolences to his family and the many friends he had.

I got to know Jimmy at the Pavilion through work: Grayco Steel Corp and Sunco Pool Co., but what I most enjoyed was what he did for the MB community through my efforts with the Jaycees, the MB Chamber of Commerce, and the Shriners. In work he was always fair and helpful. For the community, he never said no to anything that was in his power to help or assist with, always with a smile and good humor. It was an honor to know him as a friend.

I interviewed Jimmy just a couple of months ago for a project for Burroughs and Chapin and was blown away by the stories of yesteryear, and the history of music on the Strand as well as at the the MB Pavilion. Jimmy was loved and admired by so many of us, and his zest for life was contagious.
May God comfort all of you and hold you in the palm of His hand.
