Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Leumas family. Jim and Julie were special people. The world is a better place for them having been here.

To the Leumas family,
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you face this difficult time of grief after the deaths of both Jim and Julie. May God keep each of you in his care. May the knowledge that Jim and Julie are together again, embraced in the arms of a loving and gracious God, sustain you through this difficult time. God Bless and keep all of you.

To the entire Leumas family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's death and of the loss of Julie before him. Jim and I grew up together and were classmates from the first grade forward. His smile and love of life shone forth even as a young child. Many years later, I would meet and become good friends with Julie. We shared an apartment for a time in graduate school and laughed a lot together. I have often thought of Jim and Julie during the years since they moved to Raleigh. Both were kind and...

To the Leumas Family go my deepest and most sincere sympathies. I worked with Jim while with DENR in a field office. I always admired his quiet manner, professionalism and character. What a better world this would be with more Jims in it. His attention to detail where I wasn't was admired but also frustrating. You always got the complete answer from Jim with no shortcuts. His gentle way and kindness were always present. He always loved talking proudly of his family and especially Brett...

I wish to offer my condolences to the Leumas family. Jim was my direct supervisor with NCDENR for six years. He was simply the best engineer and human being I ever new. Jim had a saying "Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary, use words". He lived that philosophy. He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again. At least not in this world. We shall meet across the river my friend.

My deeppest sympathy to the Leumas family. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Murphy Oil Refinery in the summer work program many many years ago. He was alot of fun and very much a gentleman as was all the Leumas kids. Our prayers are with you and I know you will find comfort in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dearest Leumas family-

I still have a recording of Jim playing his guitar in our first band, with Robert Vaughan, my sister singing, me playing drums and Jay Periciaro playing keyboard. We were HORRIBLE. I can still hear Jim's old tube amp.

Jim was an amazing human being. The world needs more Jims, not less. It had been a year since we spoke. I wish I could have told him how much appreciated his friendship and how special he was.

God bless you, Jim. ...

Jim took the time to be kind. He always asked how my kids were doing. He wrote a letter of recommendation for me once that inspired me to become the person he described. I never worked with a finer man. He loved the LORD and he loved his family.

Jim has left us, but the example of his life remains.

I am very sorry to learn of Jim's death. I worked with him for many years, first at DENR and later with the City. During the past couple of years, I was again reminded that Jim was the ultimate professional and the consumate gentleman. He was my star witness in a case where his church was the subject of the case. Despite his great devotion to his church, his concern was whether he might compromise the city or his church due to a conflict of interest. It shows the incredible character of...
