On Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, James Lewis, 50, peacefully passed away at home. A native of Pinellas, FL, he was born on Aug. 30, 1966, and was the son of the late David Lewis, Sr. and Adrianna Lewis. He joined the Navy in 1986 and had considered Hampton and Norfolk home since 1989.

I am so glad I had the privilege of knowing James. He was a bright star at Breakthrough. His perseverance through pain and limitations in order to serve others was outstanding. I will certainly miss him and his enthusiasm and caring nature.

I remember when you were so young, maybe 7 or 8 years old on Easy st. I played Santa that year and when I visited your house , you were so excited and really believed I was the real Santa and you jumped on my lap and hugged me, so many years ago, but seems like yesterday.
