"Doc" Lewis was one of the most caring men I ever met. His dedication toward helping others continually grow into better human beings is rare in this world, and for this and many many other attributes, he will be truely missed. God bless you, Doc

Our world is a better place because of people like Doc Lewis. I had the pleasure of getting to know Doc while I worked at Camp Cherokee during the summer of 1993. He was so full of life and joy, and I will never forget his infectious laugh/cackle. He was the supporter of so many positive things, but I was most impressed with the number of children Doc touched. I cannot recall the number of times I saw grown men at Camp bring their sons to Doc and say "Doc, I don't know if you remember me, but...

Eleven years ago I met Doc. The warmth and friendliness he showed will always be in my memories and heart. My son, Jonathan, during one summer camp a couple of years ago, was able to apend several hours with Doc. Jon said that was one of the most remarkable men he was ever met! He left a living image with us forever.....

This world will never have enough folks in leadership positions with the Vision and Dedication as Doc Lewis. I am proud to say that my life has been touched by an Angel.
This Scout was KIND.

My earliest memories of Doc are from back in 1970. Thirty four years ago I was a camper at Cherokee Scout Reservation for the first time and I remember this nice older man who loved kids and was always there to take care of you if you were sick or a little homesick. Over the years I was blessed in getting to know Doc better. I worked with him in the camp health lodge one summer in the mid 70's and he was my advisor as a youth leader in the Order of the Arrow. I went to the National Order of...

Having known Doc is one of the most pleasurable and inspirational experiences I have. I fondly remember spending as much time as I could with Doc in the First Aid building at Camp Cherokee in the mid 1980s. He will be missed, but he has left a wonderful legacy for us all to enjoy.
