James W. "J.W." "Jim" Lint, age 81, of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home. He was an area resident for over 55 years previously from Pennsylvania. Jim retired as a switchman from the EJ&E Railroad. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Morel mushroom lover. He was married to Ruth Hart on May 10, 1957. They were members of Southlake Church of God. He will be remembered for his gentle soul, his gift of bringing laughter and as a wonderful and loving family man.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Desiree (Chuckie) Emerson of Portage and Donna (John) Gonzales of Lake Station; 10 grandchildren, Jackie Lint, Amber and Michelle Gonzales, Amy Esparza, Cassandra Newell, Michael Prechella, Edward Knox, Breanna and Cody Emerson, and Joseph Penilla; 20 great grandchildren; 3 brothers Donnie (Pam) Lint, Billie (Diane) Lint and Frank (Ethel) Lint; other loving family.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Anna Hardy; parents James and Laura Lint; 2 sisters Betty and Tootie and 2 brothers George and Chuck .
Visitation for James will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage with Pastor Ross Moslander officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery.
