Not sure what to say?

A close friend of Dr. Robert L. Black, Professor of Business at the University of Illinois, Dr. Black referred me to Jim who spent many hours introducing me to San Francisco, and, how to navigate the city. Jim introduced me to a number of fine people and we became the best of friends. When I travel there today, I have Jim to thank for his time, thoughtfulness, and wonderful friendship.
A very fine and exceptional individual, I'm happy and blessed that Jim is in a wonderful...

Just saw a clip on Facebook from HeeHaw with Tennessee Ernie Ford and thought of you. I thought I had heard from my mom that you had passed. I remember all the fun times with you and my uncle. I have some pictures from one time when we all went fishing. You were such a good sport with us kids. Just wanted you to know that you I will always have fond memories of you from my childhood. RIP Jim.

Magnolia Water Color for Jim

I sent Jim a Christmas card this year as I always have for many years. I was somewhat surprised to have it returned, so I decided to look him up online and see if what I ultimately did discover could be true. Jim and I became good friends back when I was a back-up singer for Tennessee Ernie Ford. As my avocation at the time was oil and water color painting, he became a admirer of my work. In fact, Jim bought several of my paintings. He always loved my work. I spent many days at his house in...

My condolences to Jim's family, and so many other friends who will deeply miss him. Jim was always there for us. First meeting Jim in 1956 while working Ernie's NBC daytime show, our paths crossed throughout the years. Jim never forgot his friends, and we will never forget him. One legacy that Jim and Ernie left us, was their support of "The Young Americans" by introducing them on Ernie's show in 1962. The YA's are still going strong, and are still inspiring us today, just as Jim and Ernie...

He was a friendly face to all that passed by him. He was a good friend and warm heart. Say Hi to Ernie. Thanks for the smiles.

I was so sad to hear of Jim's passing. Had it not been for Jim Loakes and Ernie Ford, I would not be where I am today in this business. JL was my manager for several years in the 70's, and he and Mr. Ford opened more doors for me than I deserved. The world is a sadder place without "Beano" in it. You will be missed Jim....and you are loved.

Haven't seen Jim since high school at El Monte 1944-1947. Hello Carol. He always had a smile for everyone.

Miss you, Jim. We'll meet again one day, looking forward to raising a glass of Cutty Sark, with you...
